Take the

ManyBabies authorship

survey
Help us understand your experiences with and expectations of authorship with ManyBabies. We want to know what works and doesn't work about the way completed and current projects have handled authorship, and how we can improve the way we do this in the future.

If you have contributed to a ManyBabies project, please take a few minutes to complete the short survey.

International Network for the Science of Team Science (INSciTS): Building the knowledge base for effective team science
Dr. Heidi Baumgartner, Research Scholar at Stanford University, Co- director of the Stanford Big Team Science Lab, and Executive Director of ManyBabies Project, Stanford, CA, USA. Panelist. Dr. Drew Altschul, British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland. Organizer, Many Primates Project, Panelist. Dr. Stephen M. Fiore, Professor of Cognitive Sciences, University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL USA. Moderator.

The rise of big team science has vitalized conversations about how scientific contributions are recognized and rewarded. This panel will discuss challenges with this complex area of research as detailed in Coles et al., (20222023), with an emphasis on one of the central issues in these conversations – what constitutes authorship in science. Perspectives on authorship vary both within and between individual researchers, scientific organizations, publishers, and science stakeholders. Three panelists from big team science initiatives will review their perspectives and experiences with these issues–and audience members will be encouraged to submit additional questions and join the conversation.
